HSR Sunday: Drip Marketing, Rarity, Path, and Element Type

Sunday has been confirmed with his latest Drip Marketing to be a 5-star rarity character of the Harmony path and of Imaginary element type. After the Harmony Trailblazer, Sunday is the first 5-star Imaginary Harmony unit added to the game. Honkai Star Rail JP Leaks Sunday Drip Marketing

You are likely wondering why Hoyoverse decided to release Sunday’s Drip Marketing early when the version Drip Marketing generally releases a couple of days before the prior version release. With Version 2.6 releasing on October 22, the 2.7 Drip Marketing was expected to release on 14 or 15th October. However, Honkai Star Rail JP YouTube channel mistakenly posted the Sunday drip marketing early in the morning today and later deleted it. The players had already started sharing Sunday’s Drip Marketing, forcing Hoyoverse to release it early.

HSR Sunday Release Date

Sunday has been confirmed to become playable in the Honkai Star Rail 2.7 version, which willrelease around December 1, 2024, if we take into account the standard 42-day version cycle from Honkai Star Rail. If the Drip Marketing order is also taken into account, Sunday will likely feature in the first phase of the Honkai Star Rail 2.7 version, although this is more of a calculated guess. Other than that, Tingyun’s new 5-star form ‘Fugue’ will feature alongside Sunday in the upcoming Honkai Star Rail 2.7 version, so it would likely be a busy version for HSR players.

With the release of HSR 2.7 beta, we finally have reliable leaks about Sunday’s kit with complete information.

• Basic Attack (Gleaming Admonition): Deals Imaginary Damage equal to 100% of Sunday’s Attack to one enemy.
• Skill(Benison of Paper and Rites): Makes one ally and their summon to immediately take action, increasing their Damage dealt by 40%. If the ally has a summon, their damage additionally increases by another 40%, lasting for 2 turns. When used on an ally following the path of Harmony, the immediate action effect cannot be triggered.
• Ultimate(Ode to Caress and Cicatrix): Regenerates 20% of Max Energy for one targeted ally and turns the target and their summon into “The Beatified”. In this state, their Crit Damage increases by an amount equal to 25% of Sunday’s Crit Damage plus 8%. At the start of each of Sunday’s turn, reduces the duration of the “Beatified” state by 1 turn, lasting for 3 turns total. This only takes effect on the most recent target of the Ultimate, and excludes Sunday himself. This effect is dispelled when Sunday is downed.
• Talent (The Sorrowing Body): Increases the Crit Rate by 20% for the ally chosen by his Skill, lasting for 2 turns.
• Technique: Increases all allies damage by 50% for 2 turns at the start of the battle.
• Trace 1 (Haven in Palm): When using Skill, dispels 1 Debuff from the target.
• Trace 2 (Exalted Sweep): Sunday regenerates 25 energy after entering battle.
• Trace 3 (Rest Day’s Longing): Using Sunday’s Skill doesn’t consume Skill Points, and this effect can trigger after every 2 turns.
• Bonus Stats: 37.3% Crit Damage, 18% Effect Resistance, 12.5% Defense

The most notable part about this kit leak is the ability to Action Forward an ally and their summon at the same time, while boosting their damage output. Since Bronya, Sunday will be the first Harmony character to do a 100% action forward with Skill. Other that that, his Ultimate also regenerates energy for one ally and increases their Crit Damage. Sunday’s talent also increases the Crit Rate of the ally chosen by the Skill, making him a complete support for Hypercarry units.

What’s different about Sunday is that he can cleanse allies with his Skill from his second Trace ability, which is a very useful ability to have on a Support unit.

• E1 (Millennium’s Quietus): When using skill, increases the All Type Resistance Penetration of the targeted ally by 20% for 1 turn. This effect lasts until the start of the target’s next turn.
• E2 (Faith Outstrips Frailty): Increases the Speed of Sunday and the ‘Beatified’ by 20, while the ‘Beatified’ exists on the field.
• E3 (Hermitage of Thorns): Ultimate Level + 2 and Basic Attack Level + 1.
• E4 (Sculpture’s Preamble): Regenerates 8 energy at the start of the turn.
• E5 (Paper Raft in Silver Bay): Skill Level + 2 and Talent Level + 2.
• E6 (Dawn of Sidereal Cacophony): The Talent’s Crit Rate boost effect becomes stackable (max 3 stacks). When Sunday uses Ultimate, he also applies the Talent’s Crit Rate boost effect to the target.
