Jujutsu Kaisen has officially been proclaimed to be the most popular anime globally. JJK’s second season concluded last year after adapting the thrilling Shibuya Incident arc, therefore, we have to wait patiently for season three to premiere to see where the story goes next. While you wait, here is everything we know about the Jujutsu Kaisen season 3 so far, including the release window, trailer, cast, and more.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Release Date (Speculated)
Right after the Shibuya Incident arc adaptation in season 2, Jujutsu Kaisen season 3 was officially announced right away with a teaser. The upcoming season 3 will adapt Itadori’s Extermination Arc, Perfect Preparation Arc, and Culling Game Arc. We have discussed the possible plans for the plot below.
As for the release date of Jujutsu Kaisen season 3, no official announcement has been made by the staff just yet. However, we have a rough idea of when season 3 will arrive. JJK debuted with its first season in October 2020, and it took another 3 years for season 2 to arrive in July 2023.
Therefore, based on this timeline, it will realistically take a minimum of 2-3 years before we get the next season of JJK. So, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 will likely be released in late 2025 or early 2026.
Note:
Currently, MAPPA Studios is working on numerous projects like Hells Paradise season 2, Chainsaw Man Movie: Reze Arc, Vinland Saga season 3, and others. Thus, the production of these will also affect JJK season 3 release.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Teaser & Trailer
Along with the official announcement of JJK season 3, a 20-second teaser was released. If you are wondering when we will get a full-fledged trailer for the Culling Game arc, we, unfortunately, have to wait a long time for that.
How Many Episodes Will JJK Season 3 Have?
Alas, there is no official announcement regarding the episode count of Jujutsu Kaisen season 3. But, it is confirmed that season 3 will cover the Culling Game arc. So, the upcoming season has to cover over 80 chapters within a single season.
Therefore, in line with the previous seasons, it is expected that season 3 should also have around 24 episodes. Here is the information about each arc that will be adapted:
- Itadori’s Extermination Arc (chapters 137-143)
- Perfect Preparation Arc (chapters 144-158)
- Culling Game Arc (chapters 159-221)
If you aren’t aware, 63 chapters were adapted into 24 episodes for season 1, while 73 chapters were adapted into 23 episodes for season 2. Similar to season 2, Itadori’s Extermination Arc and Perfect Preparation Arc are mini-arcs and can adapted into cour 1. And like the Shibuya Incident arc, the Culling Game arc can be fit into season 3’s second cour.
Thus, for season 3, it is still an arduous job to pull off as these arcs involve a sheer amount of battle scenes. All we can do now is wait to see how many chapters of the Culling Games will the anime be able to adapt since it features numerous cliffhangers.
