The Boys Season 4’s finale set a new standard for concluding shows. The finale gave us a lot of mindblowing stuff but the highlight of it was Butcher using his powers. Earlier in the series we got to see that when Butcher found out he has cancer, he took some compound V stolen from Frenchie in hopes of healing himself. It was later on revealed that in The Boys Season 4, Butcher has hallucinations of his dead friend Joe Kessler, however in truth it is the cancer talking to him and telling him what to do.

We saw that Butcher killed Ezekiel but we never got to see how he did it. In The Boys Season 4 Finale, we see that Compound V did not give Butcher powers but made his cancer sentient and superpowered. Butcher’s cancer is his superpower and gives him the ability to create tentacles out of his body which he used to kill Victoria Neuman. It’s also possible that as the show progresses, we might get to see a Venom-like ripoff in The Boys Season 5.
