Feixiao is the strongest single-target DPS unit in Honkai Star Rail, and one of the strongest DPS units in the game, on par with Acheron. She is releasing in the first phase banner of Honkai Star Rail 2.5. If you are unsure of whether to pull for Feixiao in HSR 2.5, go through this article first and then make up your mind on it.
Honkai Star Rail Feixiao’s Kit
Feixiao has an extremely strong Follow-up attack-focused DPS kit with the capability of doing multiple single-target attacks that destroy targets one by one. Unlike other characters, Feixiao gets her Ultimate recharged based on the number of attacks his allies make. This means that she can effectively spam her Ultimate almost every turn in the right team. Although she is a single target-focused character, as most Hunt units are, she can execute a high number of attacks each turn which allows her to be very effective against multiple enemies as well.
Her Talent Follow-up attack is triggered each time her allies attack a target, which is a ridiculous number of attacks for any character in the number. Another great mechanic in Feixiao’s kit is her Technique, which can literally round up enemies around her for 20 seconds, allowing her to fight them all at the same time while also dealing a set amount of damage to every enemy at the start of each wave.
Feixiao vs Other DPS Characters in Honkai Star Rail
Before you pull for Feixiao, you need to know how she fares against other strong DPS units in Honkai Star Rail. Let’s take a closer look at the comparison:
- Feixiao vs Acheron: Feixiao is directly comparable to Acheron when it comes to her total damage output. She may even be stronger in Single-Target scenarios. Acheron also requires specific teams to apply a debuff on enemies to get her Ultimate unlocked, which is much simpler in Feixiao’s case, allowing her to play with a wider range of characters than Acheron.
- Feixiao vs Boothill: Feixiao is well ahead of the total damage output from Boothill, who is currently the 2nd highest damage-dealing Hunt character in the game. Boothill is a Break Damage character so he can deal more single-target damage in specific scenarios, but he doesn’t come close to the overall damage output of Feixiao.
- Feixiao vs Destruction characters (Firefly, Jingliu, and Dan Heng IL): Feixiao is a single target character, but her Talent triggered Follow-up attacks even the field in multi-target scenarios against Destruction DPS units. Her damage output is comparable to Firefly and she deals more damage than both Jingliu and Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae.
Best Team Synergies for Feixiao
Feixiao is a hypercarry and she can effectively work with most support and sustain units. However, to get the best out of her kit, she needs allies that deal a large number of attacks or buff Follow-up attack damage. The more an ally attacks, the more Feixiao also attacks and the quicker her Ultimate rechargers. She is the ultimate Follow-up attack character in the game.
The best Feixiao teams will feature Robin, Topaz, Moze, Hunt March 7th, and Aventurine, as they either increase the Follow-up attack damage of allies, deal multiple attacks, or both to the enemy. Feixiao is also very F2P friendly as characters like Hunt March 7th, Moze, and Xueyi can become an important asset for her.
Does Feixiao Need Her Signature Light Cone?
No, Feixiao doesn’t need her signature Light Cone to be one of the strongest DPS units in the game. There are plenty of good Hunt Light Cones for Feixiao that she can use, like Swordplay and Final Victor.
However, her Light Cone is extremely broken for Feixiao and other Hunt Follow-up attack-focused characters in the game. The Light Cone significantly increases the Crit Rate and additionally allows the wearer to avoid almost 54% of the enemy’s defense when dealing Ultimate damage after using Follow-up attacks. I will recommend going for her Light Cone after pulling her if you have spare Stellar Jades.
Should You Pull for Feixiao?
Now that you know everything about Feixiao, here is a rundown of her strengths and weaknesses. Let’s take a look.
Feixiao’s Strength:
- Constantly attacks enemies after her allies attack.
- Has a high single-target DPS output.
- Recharges her Ultimate based on the number of attacks executed by allies, including her own attacks (except the Ultimate).
- She can work well with most characters in the game.
Feixiao’s Weaknesses:
- Doesn’t use energy for Ultimate.
- Cannot get the best out of her kit without other Follow-up focused characters.
Overall, Feixiao is a must-pull character in my opinion. She is an extremely strong DPS unit and has the capability to out-damage enemies in almost all scenarios. Other than that, she is a Wind DPS unit, which doesn’t have many great DPS options to fall back to in the game. She will be a great addition to your roster and allow you to breeze through most of the hardest challenges in the game.
