Spoiler Warning: This article includes spoilers for One Piece Chapter 1125 and focuses on the Five Elders in the aftermatch of the Egghead Island situation.
Saint Figarland Garling was introduced as the supreme commander of God’s Knights earlier in the Egghead arc. Ever since his introduction, we had the hunch that he would play a pivotal role in the endgame of One Piece. Our predictions have hit the bull’s eye as Figarland Garling has been called up by Imu to fill an important and even higher position.
It appears that One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda has been foreshadowing this moment for this elderly man with a crescent moon-shaped hair and beard, saving up his character for the right moment. In One Piece chapter 1125, Saturn got his deserved ending at the hands of Imu after how he fumbled big time with the Egghead situation.
So, as there was a vacant seat in the Gorosei, St. Garling Figarland has now become the “Warrior God of Science and Defense,” replacing Saturn as one of the elders.
All the Five Elders in One Piece are always connected with a certain planet. But this time a satellite of Earth has taken over as St. Garling is associated with the Moon. Imu is known to represent Earth, so we can expect Garling to become the right hand of Imu in the future.
This shift in the story was something we didn’t expect to happen at the end of the Egghead arc. That said, what do you think about Oda’s decision to make Garling an Elder? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
