Honkai Star Rail 2.5 Trailblazing missions hit true to the Wardance ceremony theme, hosting hard fights one after another. The 2.5 trailblazing missions feature some of the challenging boss fights in the game, with enemies having so many different mechanics. One of the hard boss fights is against Hoolay, the Borisin Warhead, and still, it is not even the hardest boss fight in the mission. But, if you are stuck on the Borisin Warhead Hoolay boss fight in HSR, then here is how you can easily defeat him and finish the story.
What Makes the Borisin Warhead Hoolay Boss Fight Hard?
The Borisin Warhead Hoolay boss fight is hard mainly due to the high amount of damage dished out by Hoolay. Once he enters the Eclipse Ire State (Moon Rage), players must out-attack him to completely break his Toughness instantly. If players are unable to out-attack him, Hoolay unleashes the Lupin Chase Calls Bloody Gleam attack, which does massive single-target damage that will likely knock one of your characters. Other than that, Hoolay also keeps summoning more Wolftroopers periodically, increasing the odds of winning the clash during the Moon Rage.
This Moon Rage phase becomes worse in the second phase of the boss fight, where his toughness doesn’t deplete after he is out-attacked by the player. Instead, players must break their Toughness the normal way to stop their Moon Rage state.
Best Characters and Teams for the Hoolay Boss Fight in HSR
Most of the difficulty of the fight can be overcome by selecting the correct characters.
- First, you need to pick characters with the Wind, Physical, or Fire damage type, at least for your Main DPS. Otherwise, you will need units that can deal direct Toughness damage. As Hunt March 7th is a default Story pick, use her Skill on a Main DPS with the mentioned weakness type to get the most out of her.
- The next thing you need to do is pick characters with multiple attacks. This means Follow-up attack characters will be the first choice for this fight, or Support units that Advance Forward the allies.
- Other than characters with Follow-up attacks, you also need Sustains with multi-target heals or shields to keep the team alive against Hoolay’s onslaught.
DPS | Support | Sustain |
---|---|---|
Feixiao | Robin | Gallagher |
Firefly | Topaz | Huohuo |
Boothill | Asta | Aventurine |
Blade | Sparkle | Natasha |
Black Swan | Bronya | Fu Xuan |
Yunli/Clara | Hanya | Fire Trailblazer (With Another Healer) |
Argenti | Ruan Mei | Luocha |
The best teams for the Hoolay boss fight are:
Main DPS | Fixed (Story) | Support | Sustain |
---|---|---|---|
Feixiao | Hunt March 7th | Robin | Aventurine |
Firefly | Hunt March 7th | Asta | Gallagher |
Yunli/Clara | Hunt March 7th | Moze | Gallagher |
Black Swan | Hunt March 7th | Robin | Huohuo |
HSR Borisin Warhead Hoolay Boss Fight Strategy
When fighting Hoolay, the main thing you need to focus on breaking his toughness bar, which will break his Moon Rage state. Other than that, keep your Ultimate attacks saved until Hoolay enters the Moon Rage.
After he enters the Moon Rage, use as many attacks you can to out-attack him, using Ultimate attacks, Follow-up attacks, or by Action forwarding your characters for more turns before his attack with Robin’s ultimate.
During the Moon Rage state, use as many attacks you can toout-attack him, using Ultimate attacks or Follow-up attacks as you possibly can. If you have Robin, then you can just use her Ultimate to Action Forward the entire team for another set of attacks before Hoolay takes his turn. If you have Feixiao, simply focus on attacking Hoolay with all your allies. For Hunt March 7th, make sure to use her Skill on a unit with the weakness type mentioned above. Otherwise, her attacks would do nothing against Hoolay.
Continue chipping away Hoolay’s toughness and health while keeping your characters safe with heals and you will be able to win the fight easily.
