Apart from the new Pale Oak Wood in Minecraft, the Pale Garden biome comes with many more additions including a special block. This is the new Creaking Heart, a Minecraft block with an interesting story behind it. If you’re excited and curious about it, you’re at the right place. So with that, let’s talk about what the creaking heart is and how to get it easily.
Note: Some of the features or mechanics might change as Minecraft is just testing these features right now. We will update the post once the Winter Drop is officially out later this year.
What Is Creaking Heart in Minecraft?
The creaking heart is a unique block that is rather tightly associated with the Creaking mob. The Creaking is a puppet mob that you cannot kill by dealing damage. Instead, you can only defeat the Creaking by breaking its creaking heart block. Therefore, you could say that the creaking heart is what controls the Creaking and is its main weakness.
However, you may also use the creaking heart to summon the Creaking, which we’ve gone over in the last section of this post. The creaking heart is broken fastest using an axe, but it drops nothing if you don’t have the silk touch enchantment.
Where to Get Creaking Heart in Minecraft
The creaking heart is a relatively rare block that only generates inside the Pale Garden biome. Specifically, some pale oak trees contain this block inside them. So, you can break tree by tree to find this block or wait for the nighttime.
Once you spot a Creaking mob, you can whack them, after which they’ll emit particle lines toward their specific creaking heart block. This is probably a faster way of finding the creaking heart blocks, but it can also be fairly dangerous.
Minecraft Creaking Heart Uses
So, after you get the creaking heart, the question is: What do you do with it? And the answer is pretty exciting. You see, beside defeating the Creaking, creaking heart can also spawn the same mob. All you need to do is place it in between and aligned with two pale oak logs and the block will be activated (see image below). Once the night falls, the Creaking mob will spawn nearby.
You may use this interesting mechanic in various ways, be it using the Creakings as your base’s guards or as a challenge in a cool horror mini-game.
Furthermore, the creaking heart has two different appearances, one when it’s active and the other one when it’s not. Both of these block stages look very cool and so the other way you can use them is in decoration and building.
Though do keep in mind that the Creaking spawns at night even though the area is lit up. So, if you do want to use the active state, then be aware that there will definitely be Creaking mobs there during the night.
Now you know how to obtain the creaking heart block in Minecraft and what it does. So, what are your thoughts on it? How would you use it in your base? Share with us in the comments below!
