The Deku Tree is a familiar landmark to anyone who has ever played any Zelda game, and it’s back in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. You won’t get to see it until you’ve completed a large amount of the main story, and there’s a puzzle to get through before you meet again.
The Deku Tree is located in the Eternal Forest to the northwest of Hyrule, and while you can get there before the story guides you that way, you won’t be able to do anything if you do.
How to find the Deku Tree in Zelda Echoes of Wisdom
You won’t be able to find the Deku Tree until you’ve completed the following three temples as part of the Land of the Goddesses main quest:
- Eldin Temple
- Lanayru Temple
- Faron Temple
Once you’ve done that, you’ll be directed towards the Eternal Forest to continue the story. To get there, head northwest from Hyrule Castle Town. You’ll know when you get there because the edges of the screen will begin to get foggy.
Once you reach the quests waypoint, interact with the headstone-like object and you’ll trigger a cutscene. When you come out, learn the Ancient Orb Echo and then place this Ancient Orb on the pedestal using the Bind ability.
How to find all pedestals in the Eternal Forest, including map
There are a total of six pedestals throughout the Eternal Forest, and they’re in a triangular layout just like the symbol on the headstone. I’ve marked the locations on the map above, with further details below:
- Directly in front of the headstone where the quest begins. Use the original Ancient Orb for this pedestal.
- Follow the path southwest, defeat the Sword Moblin and summon an Ancient Orb on top of the pedestal.
- Maintain your path southwest until you reach a clearing where the third pedestal is. Summon an Ancient Orb on this pedestal.
- Begin east now, and you’ll find the next pedestal directly south of the quest waypoint, so use your map to help you here. Summon an Ancient Orb on the pedestal.
- Continue east and until you reach another small clearing and find the next pedestal tucked in between some trees. Summon an Ancient Orb, and then head back towards the quest waypoint.
- About halfway between the last pedestal and the quest waypoint, you’ll see a Deku Baba perched on the final pedestal. Use your Bind ability to pull the Deku Baba off, killing it, then summon an Ancient Orb on the pedestal.
When all of the Ancient Orbs are in place, you can head back to the quest waypoint and another cutscene will play, revealing a new path to the north. Take the path and walk into the fog, where you’ll eventually encounter the Deku Tree, before being lowered into some Ancient Ruins.
