Black Ops 6 revolutionizes classic loadouts with the introduction of the convenient Dedicated Melee system. This innovative mechanic makes it a breeze to wield your tools, permitting you to use them at any moment.
We’ll show you how to use a Melee weapon in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 to guide you through this new tactic.
Black Ops 6 Dedicated Melee guide
In Black Ops 6, you can equip your knife by holding the ‘V’ key on PC or pressing the right thumbstick for controllers. This differs from past entries like Modern Warfare 3, where Melees usually occupied the Secondary Weapon section. With the full launch of BO6, a third slot is now designated for the more compact weapons, giving you a total of three tools in your arsenal.
If you’ve performed Finishing Moves in the past, the Melee interaction utilizes the same button and process. The only difference is that Finishing Moves requires an enemy Operator close by, similar to the returning Body Shield feature. So, as long as nobody is around you, you can freely equip your Melee weapon. You’ll also activate unlimited Tac Sprint while holding this tool, allowing you to travel more efficiently.
Keep in mind that the standard ‘Switch Weapon’ interaction does not work for Melee weapons. However, you can use it to swap out your knives for your Primary and Secondary.
The Baseball Bat and Knife are the only two tools available in the Melee Weapon category. The Knife unlocks automatically, while the Baseball Bat requires a Level 52 rank. There will likely be more Melee Weapons in the near future, so stay tuned for more variety in the upcoming seasons.
