How To Get Resin Blocks And Eyeblossom Flower In Minecraft

Minecraft Eyeblossom flower and resin

Did you know that the Pale Garden biome turns Minecraft into a horror game? This might sound like an over-exaggeration initially, but trust me, this area is scary. It even has a new, partially invulnerable monster that chases you through the woods if you step too close to its home.

This area contains several items, including resin and Eyeblossom flowers. Both have unique purposes and spawn requirements, making them slightly challenging to find. Let’s go hunt for some flowers and tree resin.

How to find the Pale Garden

The Pale Garden is a monochrome Overworld biome you’ll find as part of Minecraft’s Winter 2024 update. As of October 24, 2024, it’s already available for Bedrock players through a preview update.

Much like regular content updates, you can download the preview by selecting Minecraft’s latest version from your launcher before installing it and loading up the game. The official Minecraft site has specific instructions for your platform of choice.

As of now, Java Edition doesn’t have access to the Pale Garden update. This’ll change soon, and you can find it by activating Minecraft’s latest snapshot or version, depending on when you play next. As time passes, it’ll become a natural part of the game, and you won’t have to worry about this.

Once you’re in-game with a version that supports the Pale Garden, you have two ways to find this biome:

  • Use /locate
  • Look for it naturally

The easiest way to find the Pale Garden if you have cheats enabled is to use /locate biome pale_garden. It’ll tell you its exact coordinates, allowing you to run or teleport over.

Alternatively, you can run around and find it yourself to get the true Minecraft survival experience. Look out for pale gray trees and moss as you search for this biome. If you search at night, you may even spot some small glowing flowers.

Where to find Eyeblossom Flowers in Minecraft

Eyeblossom Flowers are the easiest of the two items you can find, as you’ll see them all over the ground in the Pale Garden. Once you approach the biome, you’ll spot small gray flowers on the floor, which you can harvest using your hands or your tool of choice.

However, the type of Eyeblossom Flower you pick up depends on the time of day. On a bright and sunny day, you’ll find “closed” Eyeblossom Flowers that are grey and produce grey dye when you use them on a crafting table. Waiting until nighttime causes them to open and glow orange. Picking one of these up gives you an open Eyeblossom Flower that gives orange dye instead.

How to get Resin in Minecraft

Next on our list is resin, a material that spawns once you attack the Creaking. The Creaking is a Pale Garden-exclusive enemy that appears near Creaking Heart blocks inside trees. You’ll usually find these at night during storms.

At first, the Creaking will be completely invulnerable to damage until you destroy the Creaking Heart to which it is connected. However, there’s one upside to this: you’ll spawn resin on nearby trees every time you attack this monster.

In short, the secret to farming a ton of resin is poking and prodding at immune Creaking monsters without dying to its attacks. You can prevent them from damaging you by staring at them or running far away from their Creaking Heart.

Once you damage a Creaking and spawn some resin, it’ll appear as small orange droplets on trees. Break this with your hands to obtain some resin clumps, which you can use to make resin bricks or blocks.

How to craft Resin blocks and bricks

Resin clumps by themselves don’t do much outside of armor trimming, but you can use them to make decorative blocks. There are two resin items you can create:

  • Block of Resin
  • Resin Brick

A Block of Resin is much like an ore block, requiring nine clumps arranged in your 3×3 crafting table grid. Resin bricks, on the other hand, behave like regular bricks. Tossing clumps in a furnace smelts them into bricks, which you can use to make brick blocks. You need four brick items to make one block, making them less expensive than regular resin blocks.
