The Boys has become one of the most watched and loved superhero series in the world for its very different approach to the superhero genre. This series brings in the basic concept of superheroes from Marvel and DC but gives them a sinister twist making them more like supervillains pretending to be heroes. The Boys has completed 4 seasons and is still one of the most-watched shows in the world. So, let’s look at the cast of The Boys Season 4 cast including all the new and reappearing characters we saw this season!
All Reappearing Characters in The Boys Season 4
1. Antony Starr as Homelander
The big bad guy in this show is Antony Starr aka Homelander. Homelander is the parody of Superman who is not at all a hero. The series, in its totality, revolves around taking down Homelander once and for all by Willaim Butcher and his team called The Boys.
In the very first season, it was made clear that Homelander, despite being the most powerful Supe, is not as good of a guy as he projects himself to be. He was responsible for sexually assaulting Butcher’s wife because of this William made it his life’s mission to kill Homelander. Homelander has every single power Superman has but has some weaknesses too. This season Homelander is way more menacing than he has ever been and is on his way to becoming the dictator of America which we will see happening in full force in The Boys Season 5.
2. Karl Urban as William Butcher
William Butcher played by Karl Urban is the lead protagonist of The Boys who is after Homelander to kill him and take down Vought, the company that created Homelander and other Supes using Compound V. Fueled by the personal grudge he has from Supes, especially Homelander, Butcher is willing to go to any extent to succeed in his mission.
This is evident from his using Temp V for superpowers in The Boys Season 3 to fight Homelander even though he knew that it was killing him. In The Boys Season 4, we see that Butcher is dying because of the tumor in his head which has become sentient because of him injecting himself with Compound V with hopes of saving his life. However, Butcher has now become a supe with a rather bizarre power and now, he is not only after Homelander, but every single Supe.
3. Jack Quaid as Hughie Campbell
Hughie Campbell is essentially the right-hand man of William Butcher. Before meeting William, Hughie was a regular guy going through the major trauma of losing his girlfriend at the hands of A-Train, one of the Supes at Vought. William knew that Hughie was angry and wanted to take revenge. So, he hired Hughie to work for him, and eventually, Hughie became the right-hand man of William’s team with the singular mission of taking down Supes and Vought.
However, in The Boys Season 4, this dynamic was broken when Butcher killed off Victoria Neuman after which Hughie, M.M, Frenchie, and Annie went their separate ways. Sadly, except Annie, Vought captured all of them and what happened to them is a mystery that will be unraveled in The Boys Season 5 or Gen V Season 2.
4. Erin Moriarty as Annie January (Starlight)
Even with a setting like The Boys, certain Supes are not bad and still wish to do good for this world. One of them is Annie January or Starlight played by Erin Moriarty. She joined The Seven in hopes of becoming a hero and helping others but was physically abused on her very first day at the Vought Tower.
Eventually, she understood the dark truth of Vought and after meeting Hughie, became a mole to help take down the company. In season 3, she officially became a part of The Boys. The Boys Season 4 showed us that Annie has given up her super-suit and is leading a movement against Homelander and his atrocities. However, after a disastrous event, Annie was unable to use her powers and could only use them in the final moments of Season 4 which raises the possibility that she is going to play a major role in The Boys Season 5.
5. Tomer Capon as Frenchie
Frenchie is what you can call a comic relief character in The Boys played by Tomer Capon. This character is special because Tomer Capon is an Israeli actor who has never done a full English production, making The Boys his first. He portrays a character who is seeking redemption for a mistake he made that cost innocent people to lose their lives. However, it seems that he has found his way to redemption by saving and being there for Kimiko, another good-hearted Supe.
The Boys has made us think that Frenchie and Kimiko will engage with each other romantically but Season 4 shattered that expectation initially by showing him to be bisexual. However, by the final few episodes of Season 4, we see that Kimiko and Frenchie finally become romantic partners. Sadly, in the final moments of the show, Frenchie was taken away by Cate using her powers and we saw Kimiko, who could not speak, do it for the very first time.
6. Laz Alonso as Mother’s Milk
Mother’s Milk played by Laz Alonso has played a major role in all three seasons of The Boys by basically doing what an HR would do in an organization. Even though Mother’s Milk looks extremely intimidating with his massive build, his approach towards things is usually empathetic as compared to the more violent ways of Butcher.
In The Boys Season 4, people thought that Mother’s Milk had been recast because he lost some weight. This season, Mother’s Milk took up a more authoritative role and we see him suffering from extreme anxiety and panic attacks which made him almost quit the team but chose to stay back when A-Train persuaded him.
7. Karen Fukuhara as Kimiko
Karen Fukuhara plays the role of Kimiko in The Boys Season 4. She is a supe who has the powers to heal from any damage induced on her, and she has extreme agility paired with her expertise in martial arts. All these factors make a formidable force able to stand her ground even against Supes like Stormfront.
She developed a relationship with Frenchie which was initially thought to be a lost cause but by the end of it, they do engage in a romantic relationship. However, by the end of the season, we see Frenchie get captured by Cate and for the very first time, we hear Kimiko speak.
8. Chace Crawford as The Deep
Chace Crawford’s The Deep is probably the most hated character in The Boys after Homelander. The Deep is an absolutely pathetic character hungry for attention and to be recognized by Homelander. He is also the one who sexually abused Starlight on her very first day at the Vought Tower. If we talk about his powers, he is essentially a ripoff of Aquaman minus the moral compass and the trident. He is pretty much the same in The Boys Season 4 with his pitiful personality and unhinged humor.
9. Jessie T. Usher as A-Train
A-Train is the Supe that started it all for Hughie to become a member of The Boys. A-Train played by Jessie T. Usher is a speedster who accidentally killed Hughie’s girlfriend by quite literally running into her. This made Hughie vengeful and when Butcher approached him to be a part of The Boys, he joined in.
However, we see a certain degree of character development in him as well which is carried forward in The Boys Season 4. A-Train probably has one of the best redemption arcs I have seen on screen and now, he has joined The Boys completely. However, as of now, his whereabouts are unknown for obvious reasons.
10. Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy
A lot of people speculated that Soldier Boy would make an appearance in The Boys Season 4 but throughout the entire length of the season, he was nowhere to be seen. However, as the season comes to an end, Soldier Boy does appear in the post-credit scene where he has been put to sleep in a cryo chamber. Eric Kripke has hinted that Soldier Boy will have a full-fledged role in The Boys Season 5 where he will team up with Homelander and will go after Butcher to kill him. So, to see Soldier Boy back in action, we will have to wait till The Boys Season 5 releases in 2026.
11. Cameron Crovetti as Ryan
Ryan is the son of Homelander who was conceived by Butcher’s wife when Homelander assaulted her. Ryan played by Cameron Crovetti can grow to be the most powerful character in The Boys. I’m saying this because he is the first human to have superpowers embedded in his DNA naturally and not by any influence induced by injecting Compound V in him. His powers did not make an appearance soon but when his mother was in danger, he manifested his heat vision and almost killed Stormfront.
In The Boys Season 4, Ryan’s powers are growing stronger gradually and he himself does not know about the extent of his powers. This is evident by how he accidentally killed the stuntman on his first save, which was one of the most gruesome deaths in The Boys Season 4. While Grace was trying to prevent Ryan from leaving, he also killed her by accident. Ryan refuses to believe the wrongs Homelander has done and goes back to his father. However, there is a possibility that when Ryan finds out the truth about his father on his own, he might turn on him and even end up killing Homelander.
12. Nathan Mitchell as Black Noir
Black Noir’s comeback was one of the most anticipated appearances in The Boys Season 4. Nathan Mitchell plays Black Noir and is essentially a ninja with a healing factor. Now, the interesting thing about him reappearing is that he was killed by Homelander in The Boys Season 3. Eric Kripke, the writer of The Boys revealed that Nathan Mitchell is going to reprise his role as Black Noir in Season 4 but the character inside the suit is going to be a different one. The one Homelander killed is dead and will remain dead.
This new Black Noir not only has the powers the original one had but also has some other interesting set of powers as well. This new Black Noir has the ability to fly and is also invincible. However, he has a weakness too. He is Narcoleptic which means that he can literally fall asleep mid-fights. He is still alive by the end of The Boys Season 4 which means that he will appear in The Boys Season 5 as well.
13. Claudia Doumit as Victoria Neuman
Victoria Neuman started off as a major antagonist in The Boys Season 4 but by the final few episodes of the season, it seems as if she had figured out that she is nothing more than just another puppet in the eyes of Homelander. She asks for help from Hughie but it is of no use as Butcher shows up at their safe house and kills Victoria by ripping her in half.
Victoria Neuman has been an integral character of the show since her very appearance and her death was not taken very well by some people. However, her daughter Zoe, is still alive and maybe we will get to see more of her in The Boys Season 5.
14. Colby Minifie as Ashley Barrett
The final reappearing character in The Boys Season 4 cast is Colby Minifie in the role of Ashley Barrett. She is another character who provides comic relief through her constantly growing anxiety and anger issues by being forced to clear the mess created by Homelander and other Supes to help safeguard the image of Vought in the public eye. She is a smart and cunning woman who knows how to get the job done but sometimes her plans backfire which is rather hilarious to witness on screen.
In The Boys Season 4, her anxiety and anger issues were at a peak since her job was completely taken over by Sister Sage and she was left with little to no purpose in The Vought Tower. By the end of the season, we see that Homelander has ordered all the supes in the Vought Tower to kill any human employees who might have dirt on Homelander and when they come after Ashley, she injects herself with Compound V which starts doing something to her body but we do not get to see what powers she got. So, I guess we will have to wait till The Boys Season 5 is released to learn what happened to Ashley.
15. Derek Wilson as Tek Knight
All the way from his first appearance in Gen V, Tek Knight appears in The Boys Season 4 as an accomplice to Homelander and Sister Sage’s wicked plan. In The Boys Season 4 Episode 6, we see Tek Knight organizing a party at his house. The Boys plan on infiltrating it and Hughie goes in dressed as Webweaver. However, after that, he gets captured and well, a lot happens to him. By the end of this episode, Tek Knight is killed by his own butler after he reveals what Homelander is planning to do.
16. Laila Robins as Grace Mallory
Grace Mallory has been an integral part of The Boys since the very beginning. She worked for the CIA and was an integral part of the association CIA shares with The Boys. Grace is the one who kept Becca and Ryan safe for quite some time before Homelander found out about their whereabouts. However, in The Boys Season 4, Grace is killed by Ryan while trying to convince him to help the CIA and The Boys fight against Homelander.
17. Jim Beaver as Robert Singer
Robert Singer was introduced to us as the Secretary of Defence in The Boys Universe. He had a strong anti-supe policy and in The Boys Season 4, we see him running for President. Singer also collaborated with Starlight but after she lost her cool and beat up Firecracker on live TV he broke all ties with her.
By the end of The Boys Season 4, Singer survived an assassination attempt orchestrated by Sister Sage and Homelander but it was of no use since Sister Sage released a video of him talking about wanting Victoria Neuman dead. Now that Victoria Neuman had already been killed by Butcher, the blame came on him and Singer was arrested and removed from the election.
18. Giancarlo Esposito as Stan Edgar
We met Stan Edgar in the very first season of The Boys as the CEO of Vought International. However, in The Boys Season 3, he was arrested for keeping classified documents from Vought. He reappears in The Boys Season 4 where Butcher gets him out of prison to help him find the Supe killing virus. By the end of the episode he is captured again but using her powers, Victoria saves him and helps him escape.
19. Maddie Phillips as Cate Dunlap
Making her first appearance in Gen V, Cate Dunlap is probably one of the most powerful supes in The Boys universe. Her powers give her the ability to make anyone do anything she asks them to if she touches them. In Gen V, initially, she was one of the good guys but later on, turned on her friends and tried to take them down. However, Marie, using her powers blew up her hand.
She makes an appearance in The Boys as one of Homelander’s Supe soldiers and is the one responsible for capturing Frenchie using her powers in the finale of The Boys Season 4.
20. Asa Germann as Sam Riordan
Sam was first introduced to us in Gen V. He is the brother of Golden Boy and was held captive at The Woods, a laboratory and prison under Godolkin University. This is the place where the Supe Killing Virus was created. Sam suffered from severe dementia and this is the reason he was so easy to manipulate switching sides with Cate leaving Marie and his friends behind.
He reappears alongside Cate in The Boys Season 4 as one of Homelander’s new recruits in his army. He is the one responsible for capturing Kimiko and making her watch Cate take Frenchie away. This is the part where we hear Kimiko speak for the very first time.
21. Olivia Morandin as Zoe Neuman
Zoe is Victoria Neuman’s daughter who was a regular kid in The Boys Season 3 but Victoria injected her with Compound V to make sure she stays safe. In this season, we see that Zoe is now a supe who has super strength and tentacles which she can use to rip people to pieces. However, in the Season finale, we see that Zoe is sent to Red River after Butcher kills off Victoria.
All New Characters Appearing in The Boys Season 4
1. Valorie Curry as Firecracker
The Boys Season 4 introduced us to Firecracker, a YouTuber and an alt-right-wing conspiracy theorist who spreads propaganda and absurd theories. However, even though she does not have any real powers, she was taken into The Seven to spread propaganda and fake news about Starlight to defame her.
In the show, when Firecracker crosses a line a pulls out Starlight’s medical records revealing to everyone that she had an abortion, Stalight lost it and beat her to a pulp on live TV bringing her own public image down. Firecracker is still up and about so we are going to see more of her in the Boys Season 5.
2. Susan Heyward as Sister Sage
Sister Sage is another new character introduced in The Boys Season 4. She does not have any massive superpowers but is the smartest person on the planet. Homelander hired her to be his advisor and she is the one responsible for coming up with the plan of taking over America which Homelander is currently executing. It seems as if he has succeded in taking over everything since the new president is a puppet to Homelander. So, yes, she turned out to be the most influential character in the entire season. She is still up and about so there is a high probability that she will reappear in The Boys Season 5.
3. Dan Mousseau as Webweaver
Webweaver is a character picked up from The Boys comic books, he is a ripoff of Marvel’s Spider-Man but with a more realistic approach to having the powers exactly like a spider. He appears for a couple of episodes in The Boys Season 4 and gives out information to Butcher and M.M. in exchange for drugs. His suit was stolen by M.M. and Hughie to infiltrate Tek Knight’s party. However, he was captured by Firecracker since she suspected him to be the leak and was brutally killed by Homelander.
4. Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Joe Kessler
One of the most anticipated appearances in The Boys Season 4 was that of Jeffrey Dean Morgan. He appears this season as Joe Kessler, a former friend of Butcher. However, as it turns out in future episodes, Joe is a hallucination caused by the sentient cancer in Butcher’s body which is killing him unless Butcher decides to do what he always wanted to do, kill off all the supes.
Initially, Butcher does not agree to this but when he sees Ryan kill Grace, he snaps and agrees to Joe which gives Butcher Venom-like powers. Since Butcher is still alive and is moving forward with his plan to kill all supes we are definitely going to see more of Jeffery Dean Morgan in The Boys Season 5.
5. Rosemarie DeWitt as Daphne Campbell
Daphne Campbell played by Rosemarie DeWitt made a short appearance in The Boys Season 4. She is Hughie’s mom who left him and his child and has been missing since. She comes back when she gets to know that Hughie’s dad is in a life-or-death medical condition. Other than that, she does not play any major role in The Boys Season 4.
6. Elliot Knight as Colin
Colin, played by Elliot Knight appears in The Boys Season 4 as Frenchie’s love interest in the first couple of episodes. this raised the question of Frenchie being gay among fans. However, as it turns out, Colin is the son of a couple whom Frenchie had killed and when he confesses this to Colin, their relationship comes to an end. By the end of Season 4, it was also revealed that Frenchie is not gay but may be bisexual.
7. David Andrews as Senator Calhoun
Senator Calhoun was the one who Robert Singer was competing against to be the President of the USA. However, Robert was arrested and Senator Calhoun was named to be the President. As it turns out, Calhound is extremely pro-supes and is essentially a puppet under Homelander’s command; the impact of which we will get to see in The Boys Season 5.
8. Omid Abtahi as Samir Shah
Samir Shah is probably one of the most important people in The Boys Season 4. He is Victoria’s boyfriend and Zoe’s father and also the one who successfully engineered the Supe Killing Virus but during his experiments, some of his test subject animals got loose. These V’d up animals were encountered by The Boys, Victoria, and Stan Edgar whom they narrowly escaped saving Sameer as well.
However, Butcher captured Sameer to recreate the virus for him which he did after a lot of torture and persuasion but he used it on Kimiko and escaped. However, Frenchie was able to reverse-engineer the virus from Kimiko’s severed leg. Butcher took that sample of the virus after killing Neuman and is probably out looking for Sameer to make some more for him in The Boys Season 5.
