First Look At One Piece Remake Anime Revealed With Staff Details

During Jump Festa last year, we got the surprise announcement of The One Piece Remake by WIT Studio. This has been the dream announcement that the fans have yearned for all these years. Now, on One Piece Day 2024, a lot of new details along with new art, character designs, and production details for the brand-new anime were revealed. Here is everything that was showcased at Netflix’s THE ONE PIECE Remake Production BTS today.

The One Piece Remake Production Staff Revealed

As you know, WIT Studio is in charge of remaking the One Piece anime. Thus, renowned animators in industry and several new young staff members have onboarded the ship to craft the remake. Here are the production staff members of The One Piece remake:

• Director: Masashi Koizuka (known for Attack on Titan, Durara, Baccano, etc.)
• Assistant Director: Hideaki Abe (known for Jujutsu Kaisen, Ride Your Wave, Penguin Highway, etc.)
• Series Composition: Taku Kishimoto (known for Erased, Haikyuu, Blue Lock, etc.)
• Character Design/ Chief Animation Director: Kyoji Asano, Takatoshi Honda (known for Spy x Family, Penguindrum, Kenichi, etc.)
• Creature Design/ Concept Art: Yasuhiro Kajino
• Prop Designer: Eri Taguchi (known for Jujutsu Kaisen, March Comes In Like a Lion, etc.)
• Action Animator: Ken Imaizumi, Shuhei Fukuda (known for My Hero Academia, Haikyuu, and Jujutsu Kaisen)
• Art Director: Tomonori Kuroda (known for Witch Craft Works, A Certain Scientific Railgun series, etc.)

Director Masashi Koizuka talked about his love for One Piece in an interview BTS, and said, “I knew that I love One Piece the most in this studio so I took this project because I didn’t want anyone else working on it. I will definitely create something interesting. Please look forward to it. Thank you.”

First Look at The One Piece Remake Anime

While we didn’t get any teaser or trailer as we hoped for the One Piece remake anime, an exclusive first look with new concept art was shared by the staff. Here is what WIT Studios has cooking:

Straw Hat Pirates Character Designs in The One Piece Remake

The first season of The One Piece Remake will adapt the Romance Dawn saga in its entierty. Hence, the character designs of our favorite Straw Hat Pirates, such as Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Sanji, and Usopp, were also revealedd today. The animators have perfectly retained Oda’s art style, as you can see in the images below:

It seems the remake is still in the pre-production phase as we weren’t presented with a teaser or trailer today. However, the production team still delighted the fans with marvelous concept art for various arcs and characters from the Romance Dawn saga (check out One Piece arcs in order). That’s everything that the production team revealed about the eagerly-anticipated The One Piece Remake by WIT Sudio. While fans are a bit disappointed as we did not receive a trailer, lots of new details elevated the hype around the remake today.
