A new Naruto event called the “Konoha Experience” took place yesterday at the esteemed Le Grand Rex cinema and concert venue in Paris. The creators of Naruto and Boruto, Masashi Kishimoto and Mikio Ikemoto, respectively were both present for a meeting with the fans. In this event, it is heavily rumored that Kishimoto sensei hinted at his next manga to the fans.
Kishimoto Has a Possible New Manga in the Works
In the Konoha Experience event at the largest cinema hall in Europe, the fans had a chance to host a Q&A with Kishimoto and Ikemoto. Right now, the interview is being translated by fans in parts and is slowly being shared with the community on X (formerly Twitter).
In this interview, Kishimoto sensei mentioned that Boruto: Two Blue Vortex’s story and art are both being led by Mikio Ikemoto.
For those who believed that Kishimoto took over the Boruto series, he had been only supervising the sequel and gave Mikio a template of the story earlier. Thus, Kishimoto sensei has been pretty much free and spending time with his family after working hard on the Naruto series.
Now, the author has teased the fans by emphasizing that “he is looking for encouragement from his friends and family to get started on his new manga.” According to a Japanese to English translation, he said,
“It’s a difficult question. I think I have a goal, but the most important thing is to spend time with my family. I love the moments with the fans, I want to have a little more. I think that in these moments I find motivation and will for a new work.”
Kishimoto already started a new work called “Samurai 8: The Tale of Hachimaru” in 2019, but it was canceled after 43 chapters. So, fans went into an ecstatic state after hearing this and expressed their joy:
We also don’t know if the potential new work is going to be a new installment in the Naruto/Boruto franchise. However, fans expect a completely new series from Kishimoto sensei.
Furthermore, we all know that the sensation, Jujutsu Kaisen manga is ending in just 5 chapters. So, fans joked about WSJ making Kishimoto return with a new manga as well.
Now, this article is merely based on rumors about Mashashi Kishimoto’s new manga as no official announcement has been made. So, we suggest you take this with a pinch of salt and stay tuned for official updates from the author himself.
