And for the uninitiated, it can quickly get confusing. So if you’re someone who wants to know all Hades 2 characters and gods, keep reading as I tell you all about them here!
All Hades 2 Gods and Entities
When you start venturing into the world of Hades 2, you will meet the godlike beings of Olympus. When Melinoe meets them, they are already at the height of the war with the Titans. And, if you remember some of the returning gods of Olympus from Hades 2, they now don war attires!
- Hades and Cerberus: The entire game revolves around Hades falling at the hands of Chronos. So, of course, the god of death does return in Hades 2. He will be chained beside the beloved three-headed hound Cerberus this time. Hades can be occasionally found in Tartarus, and they provide a boon that helps Melinoe fight against Chronos.
- Aphrodite: The goddess of love is back in Hades 2! Aphrodite in Hades 2 now stands with a shield and spear and provides boons focused on applying weak status effects on enemies.
- Apollo: The twin brother of the goddess Artemis, Apollo grants boons that either concuss or buff Melinoe’s attacks on taking damage.
- Artemis: The twin older sister of Apollo, Artemis only appears in certain rooms of Hades 2. You first meet her at the Crossroads, where she helps you fight the forces of Chronos. Her boons will help Melinoe by shooting arrows at specific times.
- Charon: The boatman and one of the Nyx’s children return in Hades 2! Charon will provide Melinoe with boons, power-ups, and healing items in exchange for coins.
- Chaos: Chaos of Hades 1 also returns in Hades 2; this time, she sports a new look! She now sports a suit and looks badass while doing so. Her boons debuffs Melinoe for certain rooms as a challenge. When you complete them, the boon’s positive impact activates, empowering Melinoe!
- Chronos: The final boss of Hades 2, Chronos, the titan of time, is the grandfather of Melinoe and the father of most gods of Olympus.
- Circe: Another ally of Hecate, Circe provides Melinoe with Changes and Fortunes. Circe only appears on her island, located in the Rift of Thessaly.
- Demeter: The grandmother of Melinoe and the mother of Persephone, Demeter provides ice boons, which freeze enemies, create AoEs, etc.
- Eris: Eris sometimes randomly appears at the Crossroads as a general annoyance. Oh, and she is another of Nyx’s kids. The Guardian of the Rift of Thessaly and the second boss of the surface. She wields the Adamant Rail, used by Zagreus in Hades 1.
- Hecate: Melinoe’s master is the first boss she has to defeat to progress through the game. It comes in the form of Hecate testing Melinoe for her strength. The true witch of the crossroads, Hecate is the caretaker and master of Melinoe, teaching her combat and survival throughout her childhood.
- Hephaestus: The god of craftsmanship makes his formal entry in Hades 2. Hephaestus provides boons that apply blast on Melinoe’s attacks. Some of his boons also provide defensive capabilities.
- Hera: The goddess of marriage also makes their Hades 2 debut! Hera provides Melinoe with boons that apply the Hitch effect. This allows Melinoe to link enemies together to spread any damage.
- Heracles: Heracles occasionally appear on the surface and, like Nemesis, challenge Melinoe in a competition to kill more enemies. Completing it will reward Melinoe with coins.
- Hermes: The swift god of Hades 1 makes their Hades 2 return. Hermes provides boons that speed up Melinoe’s attack and doge. His boons can also make Melinoe’s Omega attacks consume less magick.

- Narcissus: An obsessed being you’ll occasionally meet at Oceanus. Narcissus gives Melinoe gifts, generally a bundle of items, boons, and coins.
- Nemesis: The daughter of the god Nyx from Hades 1, Nemesis is a rather frustrated and moody warrior who is upset to not be on the frontlines of the fight against Chronos and the Titans.

- Selene: Selene offers Melinoe the Gifts of the Moon, which gives her a choice between various Hexes. These Hexes are powerful attacks that use a certain amount of magick. Furthermore, you can only use it once per round.
- Zeus: The king of Olympus also returns and provides Melinoe with boons that allow her to strike enemies with lightning damage.
Other Hades 2 Characters
Now, characters in Hades 2 are encountered in two portions – one in the underworld, where you spend a portion of the game, and on the surface, where you go to search for the answers. Here’s all the other characters that you encounter throughout Hades 2:
- Arachne: A spider who has an affinity for spinning silk clothing. Arachne offers Melinoe a choice of outfits, which provides limited protection. Sometimes, it can be a buff or defense.
- Charybdis the Devouring: A sea monster boss that sometimes appears in the Rift of Thessaly.
- Infernal Cerberus: The guardian who protects the Fields of Mourning in Hades 2. He is the third central boss of Hades 2.
- Dora: Melinoe’s friend, who so happens to be a ghost. Dora has two personalities – one where she is grumpy and spooky, and the other is highly smug and friendly with Melinoe. She doesn’t remember much of her past in the current Hades 2 story, so we might get a fleshed-out backstory when the game launches in 1.0.
- Echo: A mountain nymph, Echo provides three Plantive Echo buffs, of which you can choose one. These buffs can either provide you with strength or get previously claimed rewards.
- Icarus: The son of Daedalus, Icarus provides Melinoe with bombing run assists, which can substantially make her strong.
- Polyphemus: The Ephyra City Guardian and the first boss of the surface.
- Schelemeus(Skelly): The beloved skeleton trainer and dummy from Hades 1 is again back, now named Schelemeus! He is still a dummy but also teaches the forces of Crossroads warfare to prepare for the war between Olympus and Titans.
- Scylla and the Sirens: The second boss you fight in Hades 2. Scylla and the Sirens are found in the Oceanus and are tough as nails. This fight also features one of the game’s best songs, sung by Scylla and the Sirens themselves!
- Toula: The cat from the underworld also appears randomly on the surface! Melinoe can befriend Toula as a familiar later in the game.
- Frinos: A frog that lives in the Crossroads and someone Melinoe confides in. Frinos can be employed as a familiar.
- Uh-Oh: A dangerous rat who can sometimes appear as an encounter boss in Oceanus.
- Hecuba and Gale: In Hades 2, you will encounter a Dobermann with whom you can interact at the Crossroads. This is Hecuba in the game and alongside her, you will find a Gale, who appears as a polecat.
With that, these are all Hades 2 characters and God you encounter while playing the grand adventure. So, which one is your favorite character or god from the game? Let us know in the comments below.
