Honkai Star Rail’s universe is vast, and it is shaded in multiple colors of different “morality”, often making you think what it means to be good or bad. The world has its fair share of heroes and villains, accompanied by those that fall on either side at the same time. Dr. Primitive is one person in HSR who does extremely evil things in the name of science and experimentation. We finally got a good look at Dr. Primitive’s plans and how his faction executes his ideology in the HSR 2.6 trailblaze continuance mission, and it was not pretty. If you want to learn more about Dr. Primitive and who he is, here is a complete guide with all the information we currently have on him.
Who Is Dr. Primitive in Honkai Star Rail 2.6
in HSR, Dr. Primitive is the #64 member of the Genius Society and an Emanator of Erudition. He is considered extremely evil, due to the planet-wide experimentations he does, destroying multiple worlds and civilizations. He is considered as an Intergalactic criminal and is heavily pursued by the Galaxy Rangers.
Dr. Primitive detests humanity, considering it to be unable for evolution and assuming that it will go stale and extinct. This is why he uses his experiments to regress humanity back into their ‘primitive’ form, rekindling the spark of evolution in them.
These atavistic experiments are done using the memetic virus that completely corrupts the minds of humans, making them forget and let go of everything dear to them in their humane form, turning them into monkeys or apes. His atavistic experiment on planets like Larose completely regressed everyone on the planet into apes. Another experiment of his is the Galaxy Ranger Rappa, who was constantly experimented on in one of the research centers of Dr. Primitive growing up.
The Galaxy Rangers are in constant pursuit of Dr. Primitive, trying to catch him and foil his plans for further experiments around the star rail universe. However, it seems that Dr. Primitive enjoys being pursued, as he always maintains a balanced distance from those trying to hunt him while also never completely becoming untraceable.
Other than that, Dr. Primitive is a master of gravity-capture technology, with even the Astrophysicists from the Intelligentsia Guild failing to understand it.
Dr. Primitive’s Appearance and Faction in Honkai Star Rail
Dr. Primitive is expected to be a non-human in HSR, with Screwllum mentioning that some believe he is an inorganic entity due to his previous transgressions against humanity. With recent developments of the Slumbernana Monkeys, he might also be an Ape or monkey, as that’s the truest form he sees for Human beings.
Other than that, Dr. Primitive also has his own set of followers, called the AtaviSearch Forest faction. This is a group of scientists that executes their experiments all over the universe without any sense of morality.
Will Dr. Primitive Become Playable in HSR?
Dr. Primitive is clearly a villainous figure in Honkai Star Rail, and his story is heavily linked to the Galaxy Rangers. With two Galaxy Rangers already introduced in the game — Rappa and Boothill, it is clear that Dr. Primitive will have more role in the story in the future. At the end of the HSR 2.6 missions, we also have a brief interaction between Mr. Reca and Rappa, where he appears to give information about Dr. Primitive’s location.
If I have to guess, the 3.x Trailblaze Continuance missions can be centered around Dr. Primitive and the Galaxy Rangers. Now, whether Dr. Primitive will become playable or not, I must say that the chances are very low. Honkai Star Rail so far has not made any outright villainous characters into playable, the exception being Sunday who had a change of heart after being defeated. Dr. Primitive seems like a clear villainous figure and I don’t see him changing his ideals in the story.
