The Penguin episode 4 has been released and is arguably, one of the best-crafted episodes that have been released by this franchise so far. Until now, we were told that Sofia Falcone was in Arkham Asylum for being the Hangman who strangled and killed seven women. However, episode 4 also came with a massive revelation regarding the true identity of the Hangman. So, who is the real Hangman in The Penguin?
Carmine Falcon Is the The Hangman
In the series, when Sofia looks at the evidence the reporter presents in front of her regarding the deaths of seven women who apparently committed suicide, she sees that the injuries they have are similar to what her mother had. With that, she remembers that when she saw her dad, Carmine Falcone’s hands the night when her mother committed suicide, he had scratch marks on his hands as well. This confirms that the person behind the death of these girls and Sofia’s mom is none other than Carmine Falcone himself.
This proves that all this time, Carmine Falcone was the real Hangman while Sofia Falcone was being framed by her own father to be the Hangman and had to spend 10 years in Arkham Asylum suffering.
However, in the comic books, Sofia Falcone was indeed the Hangman and was later killed off by Two-Face. So, now that the show has changed this major detail, let’s wait and see how they carry it out in upcoming episodes of The Penguin.
